Three dimensional data from bridge deck pressure flow scour experiments under clear water conditions conducted at the Federal Highway Administration's (FHWA) Turner-Fairbank Highway Research Center (TFHRC) J. Sterling Jones Hydraulics Laboratory. The experiments included 3 girder, 6 girder, and streamlined scale bridge decks, one and two millimeter diameter sand, and bed bathymetry scans at intermediate times for two millimeter sand cases. Data for both partially submerged and fully submerged bridge decks at a variety of depths are included. The data will be of interest to CFD software developers working on scour modeling capabilities including sediment entrainment models and hydraulic engineers testing CFD software for application to bridge scour risk assessment for major flood events.
